Being Future-Ready with LOT
Last year, my daughter, Jedidah, graduated from Little Olive Tree Woodlands. At Little Olive Tree, she wasn’t just taught, she was loved, guided, and gently shaped into someone who could see beyond differences. This year, she started Primary 1. One afternoon, she came home and told me something that completely caught me off guard. “My favourite ruler broke today. My friend broke it.” Naturally, I was concerned and asked if she was upset—if she cried. She simply shook

Creation C.A.R.E - Appreciating Horses
Excursions are always the highlight for our children, and as the day draws near, the classrooms buzz with their excited chatter! This time, the Nursery, K1, and K2 children from Little Olive Tree Bukit Arang and Hougang explored the Singapore Turf Club, discovering truth, appreciating beauty, and learning about goodness through every sight and sound witnessed outdoors. The children encountered truth in its most authentic form, moving from apprehension to understanding. One c

7th Teachers’ Day Dedication Service
Join us in celebrating a special moment: our teachers and leaders took part in the 7th Teachers’ Day Dedication Service , where Christian preschool educators gathered to worship and renew their calling. Our little ones from LOT Rochor stood bravely at the front, reading Scripture on mustard seeds—an echo of hope that resonated deeply as Bishop Philip Lim exhorted God’s people. It was a reminder that in the small and humble, God’s power is made mighty. Dive into the full sto

Returning to Anita's First Love
Returning to My First Love When I first came to Singapore, I was a young mother with no friends, no family, and an infant in my arms. Every morning, I would sit in the preschool foyer as my daughter began her first steps into learning. From the sidelines, I noticed the sparkle in children’s eyes, the warmth of their teachers, and the laughter that filled the room. It stirred something in me. One day, the principal asked if I would read a story to the children. I said yes—and

Concluding Good Start Conference 2025
Last Friday marked the fourth Good Start Conference, a gathering that reminded us once again why early childhood education matters so deeply. From the start, the heart behind the conference has always been simple: to provide teachers with a space for growth, inspiration, and connection—not glamour, but genuine learning. This year’s conference carried fresh energy. Leaders from across the early childhood sector joined us, alongside interactive booths that allowed participants

SG60 - Colours of Love
On 2nd August 2025, Little Olive Tree (LOT) Preschools had the privilege of being part of something bigger than ourselves — we were invited to set up a booth at Pasir Ris Town Park to celebrate Singapore’s 60th birthday. It was a meaningful collaboration with the PAssionArts Festival 2025, and we were proud to represent our community and the heartbeat behind our work. We chose to do acrylic pour art — not because it’s trendy or easy, but because of what it represents. Acrylic

Acrylic Pour Art - a Metaphor for Growing Executive Functioning in Children
A reflection by Executive Director, Presbyterian Preschool Services after attending the Keynote by Professor Adele Diamond at the Inaugural Bridging Worlds in Early Childhood Development Conference by KLCII on 31 Jul 2025 Executive functioning in children is like creating an acrylic pour painting—fluid, layered, and full of surprise. It’s not a paint-by-numbers task. It’s an unfolding process. The teacher is not the artist who paints over the child’s canvas, but the one who

Here We Are — LOT’s NDP 2025 Cover
This year’s NDP song " Here We Are" carries a deeply personal meaning for our Little Olive Tree family — especially for the children, teachers, and leaders of Ang Mo Kio and Bukit Arang. In 2024, when a sudden fire incident disrupted our AMK centre, Bukit Arang responded not with hesitation, but with hospitality . They opened their doors, hearts, and classrooms — embodying the spirit of koinonia (fellowship) and the biblical call to carry one another’s burdens. In that ti

Tenfold Blessings: Ten fingers, ten blessings.
A child’s hand in a teacher’s. Ten fingers. Ten blessings. This is what we believe: that blessings multiply when we reach out. When one hand takes hold of another, something sacred happens—lives are nurtured, hope is restored, and love is passed on. This is the heartbeat of Tenfold Blessings, our fundraising campaign in support of the Educational Support Programme (ESP) at Little Olive Tree Preschools. The Story Behind the Support At the core of ESP is a simple but p

Be Younique Day 2025 – Celebrating Every Child, Every Gift
At Little Olive Tree Preschools, we believe every child is wonderfully made and uniquely gifted. This year’s Be Younique Day was a beautiful reflection of that belief, as four of our centres came together in joyful celebration—each with their own creative take on what it means to be “uniquely you”. 🎾 Ghim Moh Campus – Sports Day The energy was infectious as children arrived in a colourful array of sports attire! From soccer to rollerblading, our little athletes warmed up

Thank you, LOT Bukit Arang!
Dear LOT Bukit Arang, I hope this message finds you well. I wanted to take a moment to express my deepest gratitude for all the support and kindness you have shown our family during our time in Singapore. Little Olive Tree Preschool made a profound difference in my daughter’s life and education. My daughter, Nandin, has learned so many wonderful things at school — from improving her English reading, writing, and speaking skills to becoming more independent and responsible. Th

A Grateful Mother's Journey
"I would like to express my gratitude for accepting my child in LOT Woodlands. Despite the long travelling distance from Punggol, my husband and I think it is worth for my child to be in the inclusive classroom where he can have suitable special needs support in the preschool. We have met up with the Child Development doctor at KKH yesterday and she was pleased with the improvement my child has made. I am very glad the teachers in LOT Woodlands are very child-centric and ha

Screen Time, Not Scream Time: Raising Calm, Curious Children
https://podcasts.apple.com/sg/podcast/parented/id1498022898?i=1000709171994 How Little Steps Towards Less Screen Time Can Grow Stronger Children In today’s digital world, screens are everywhere—from learning to entertainment to social connection. But as many parents have discovered, scaling back screen time can lead to tears, tantrums, and plenty of resistance. How do we support our children through this transition without losing our minds—or our values? In a recent epi

This year’s theme, “Symphony of Wings,” turns our attention skyward, focusing on the beauty, value, and vulnerability of birdlife and their habitats. What is Creation C.A.R.E.? As part of our Creation C.A.R.E. 2025 journey under the theme “Symphony of Wings” , the children of Little Olive Tree Preschool (Marsiling) recently embarked on a learning journey to Jurong Lake Gardens —one of Singapore’s most beautiful green spaces and bird habitats. Equipped with binoculars, bird guides, and lots of curiosity, our little ones learned how to identify different local bird species and observed how birds interact with their natural surroundings.
