POP 3.0: A New Chapter
In the competitive landscape of early childhood education in Singapore, where government-backed childcare promises affordability and accessibility, private preschools face an uphill battle for survival. For Little Olive Tree Preschools, the journey has been one of faith, perseverance, and unwavering commitment to nurturing young lives with truth, beauty, and goodness. Our story began in 1974 when our first preschool was established under Presbyterian Community Services to m

Let Your Light Shine, With Us!
Light is a wonderful thing. It does not exist for itself — it shines so that others may see. On 18 October 2025, the Let Your Light Shine Career Fair at Little Olive Tree (Rochor) was just that — a gathering of light. Jointly organised by the Presbyterian Church in Singapore, Singapore Life Church, and Presbyterian Preschool Services, the event brought together close to 30 participants in a warm, faith-filled morning of sharing, laughter, and inspiration. From the openi

Celebrating Children’s Day at P51!
On October 2nd, P51 came alive with laughter, joy, and childlike wonder as we celebrated Children’s Day. A special occasion not just for our children, but for everyone who treasures the beauty of childlike faith and the magic of childhood. The day began with a burst of colour and creativity as our little ones arrived dressed as their favourite storybook characters. From princesses and superheroes to explorers and animals, each child proudly stepped into the shoes of their he

Mid-Autumn Celebration with WEFC
On Saturday, Little Olive Tree (Woodlands) had the wonderful opportunity to celebrate the Mid-Autumn Festival together with Woodlands Evangelical Free Church (WEFC). The Mid-Autumn Festival, also known as the Mooncake Festival, is a time for reunion, thanksgiving, and togetherness. This year’s celebration was made extra meaningful as we gathered not just as families, but as a wider community. The morning was filled with warmth and excitement as parents, children, and church m

Mid-Autumn Celebration with Bethany
LOT Bethany came alive with festive cheer as children, parents, and grandparents gathered for our Intergenerational Mid-Autumn Festival celebration. The afternoon overflowed with warmth and togetherness—a vivid reflection of family, tradition, and the vibrant community we hold dear. Weeks of careful planning and preparation went into every detail. Our teachers and staff poured heart and creativity into the activities, knowing that the true reward would come not just from the

Let Your Light Shine!
I have been pondering deeply about our purpose as an early childhood service in Singapore—a nation where parents are truly spoilt for choice. From large Anchor Operators (AOPs) to premium preschools with state-of-the-art facilities, the landscape is rich and competitive. With so many options available, why does another preschool matter? I found my answer by understanding why education itself holds such weight in our nation’s heart and future. Why Education Matters So Deeply t

Daily Dose of Vitamin V(alues)
As a photographer, I often find myself quietly observing life as it unfolds, capturing fleeting expressions, small gestures, and the little stories that tell something much bigger about who we are. Recently, at Little Olive Tree Ghim Moh, I witnessed a moment that struck me deeply. The K2 children were at the playground that day, running about joyfully. Their voices carried far, perhaps louder than usual, as they tried to speak and play above the constant hum of nearby cons

Being Future-Ready with LOT
Last year, my daughter, Jedidah, graduated from Little Olive Tree Woodlands. At Little Olive Tree, she wasn’t just taught, she was loved, guided, and gently shaped into someone who could see beyond differences. This year, she started Primary 1. One afternoon, she came home and told me something that completely caught me off guard. “My favourite ruler broke today. My friend broke it.” Naturally, I was concerned and asked if she was upset—if she cried. She simply shook

Creation C.A.R.E - Appreciating Horses
Excursions are always the highlight for our children, and as the day draws near, the classrooms buzz with their excited chatter! This time, the Nursery, K1, and K2 children from Little Olive Tree Bukit Arang and Hougang explored the Singapore Turf Club, discovering truth, appreciating beauty, and learning about goodness through every sight and sound witnessed outdoors. The children encountered truth in its most authentic form, moving from apprehension to understanding. One c

7th Teachers’ Day Dedication Service
Join us in celebrating a special moment: our teachers and leaders took part in the 7th Teachers’ Day Dedication Service , where Christian preschool educators gathered to worship and renew their calling. Our little ones from LOT Rochor stood bravely at the front, reading Scripture on mustard seeds—an echo of hope that resonated deeply as Bishop Philip Lim exhorted God’s people. It was a reminder that in the small and humble, God’s power is made mighty. Dive into the full sto

Returning to Anita's First Love
Returning to My First Love When I first came to Singapore, I was a young mother with no friends, no family, and an infant in my arms. Every morning, I would sit in the preschool foyer as my daughter began her first steps into learning. From the sidelines, I noticed the sparkle in children’s eyes, the warmth of their teachers, and the laughter that filled the room. It stirred something in me. One day, the principal asked if I would read a story to the children. I said yes—and

Concluding Good Start Conference 2025
Last Friday marked the fourth Good Start Conference, a gathering that reminded us once again why early childhood education matters so deeply. From the start, the heart behind the conference has always been simple: to provide teachers with a space for growth, inspiration, and connection—not glamour, but genuine learning. This year’s conference carried fresh energy. Leaders from across the early childhood sector joined us, alongside interactive booths that allowed participants

SG60 - Colours of Love
On 2nd August 2025, Little Olive Tree (LOT) Preschools had the privilege of being part of something bigger than ourselves — we were invited to set up a booth at Pasir Ris Town Park to celebrate Singapore’s 60th birthday. It was a meaningful collaboration with the PAssionArts Festival 2025, and we were proud to represent our community and the heartbeat behind our work. We chose to do acrylic pour art — not because it’s trendy or easy, but because of what it represents. Acrylic
