LOT Bethany came alive with festive cheer as children, parents, and grandparents gathered for our Intergenerational Mid-Autumn Festival celebration. The afternoon overflowed with warmth and togetherness—a vivid reflection of family, tradition, and the vibrant community we hold dear.
Weeks of careful planning and preparation went into every detail. Our teachers and staff poured heart and creativity into the activities, knowing that the true reward would come not just from the laughter of the children, but from the words of encouragement we hear from parents, the smiles exchanged between neighbours, and the quiet pride of grandparents watching new generations keep tradition alive.

Children explored the festival’s rich heritage through lantern riddles (猜灯谜), lantern decorating, and mooncake making. Parents and grandparents joined in each step, turning every moment into a living bridge across generations. And when the lantern parade began, little ones proudly lit the evening, their joy echoing the deeper light of shared culture and connection.
At Little Olive Tree, we believe traditions are not relics of the past but living threads that root us in identity and belonging. In a modern era where many customs fade, these shared experiences teach gratitude, respect, and the enduring strength of community.
This is our hope for Singapore: neighbourhoods where families know one another, where friendship and appreciation cross generations and cultures. Bethany’s celebration showed what is possible when families and school walk hand in hand—when the fabric of community is woven tighter through every smile, every shared story, every lantern glowing in the night.
We are profoundly thankful to our families for journeying with us and to our dedicated team whose love and labour made this day possible. As one body, we are nurturing children who honour the past, embrace the present, and help build a future where neighbourly friendship is the heartbeat of our nation.
