Date: 10 October 2025 (Perfect Ten)

Venue: Conrad Singapore Marina Bay

Guests: 270 attendees

Organised by: Presbyterian Preschool Services (PPS)

On a night where everything felt just right — 10 October, a Perfect Ten — 270 guests gathered at Conrad Singapore Marina Bay for a dinner that would not only feed the body, but stir the soul.

The Tenfold Blessings Gala Dinner was not just a fundraiser. It was a heartfelt invitation to see the world through the eyes of children — especially those who learn differently, express uniquely, and grow gently in their own time.

There were no gimmicks.

No glamour for glamour’s sake.

Just stories, laughter, brushstrokes, and a deep call to love better.

Inclusion at the Heart

The evening opened with a speech by Chairman Arthur Lim, who set the tone with clarity and compassion. He reminded the audience that inclusion is not a passing trend, but a deep conviction that has quietly shaped the work of PPS for years.

"Belonging is not earned - it's given."

He shared the journey of Josiah, a young boy who came into our schools with needs too complex for many to manage. Josiah’s transformation did not come from polished programmes or perfect classrooms. It came through the presence of people — teachers, parents, and principals — who simply said, “Let’s try.”

Chairman Lim reminded us that inclusion is not about ticking boxes or offering charity. It is about changing the way we live, teach, and relate, so that no child is seen as a problem to be solved, but a person to be embraced.

“One Too Many” — A Reflection with a Smile

Following that, Executive Director Lim Ee Tuo offered a speech that blended humour with heart.

He shared that his Chinese name means “one more” — or to some, “one too many”, as he was the unexpected fourth son in a family hoping for a daughter. Yet that name, once seen as an accident, became a symbol of the very mission PPS stands for.

"At PPS, we believe no child is one too many."

This line — simple, sincere, and pointed — echoed the central truth of the evening. Every child, especially those who take more time, more patience, and more love, is not an excess. They are a gift that stretches our hearts and deepens our humanity.

Brushstrokes of Courage and Grace

That message came to life through the children’s artwork displayed throughout the ballroom — a series of 12 large acrylic pour paintings created by children with additional needs from eight PPS preschools.

These artworks were not mere decoration. They were the fruit of weeks of collaboration, experimentation, and trust-building.

The process was designed by the Educational Support Team (EST), who went beyond instruction to create conditions where the children could truly express themselves. Children were prepared through social stories, transported across centres, and supported gently through each session. Some had never painted on such large canvases. Others had never worked alongside peers from other schools.

And yet, what they created was remarkable — not just in colour and texture, but in courage and expression. The artworks reflected joy, movement, emotion, and the kind of beauty that emerges only when children are given space to flourish.

Guests were invited to support the Educational Support Programme (ESP) by giving towards these artworks — and many responded with generosity and joy.

A Generous Community

The evening would not have been possible without the generous giving of many. We are especially grateful to Mr and Mrs Robert Lim of Wiselink, our Diamond Class donor, whose contribution will significantly support the expansion of the Educational Support Programme across our preschools.

Their gift reflects more than corporate support — it signals a shared belief in building a more inclusive world, starting from the earliest years.

We are also thankful for the many table hosts, church leaders, corporate sponsors, friends, and families who supported the event. Each gave in their own way — through donations, artwork sponsorships, kind words, and quiet encouragement.

This shared effort has made it possible for PPS to continue serving over 70 children with additional needs through the ESP, with hope to reach even more in the coming years.

Why Tenfold Blessings?

A child’s hand in a teacher’s — ten fingers, ten blessings.

This simple image inspired the name of the dinner.

At PPS, we believe that blessings multiply when we reach out. When one hand takes hold of another, something sacred happens:

lives are nurtured, hope is restored, and love is passed on.

From God’s hand holding ours, we receive.

Through our hands, others are blessed.

And together, we build a community where no child is seen as “one too many.”

Looking Forward

The funds raised from the Tenfold Blessings Dinner will go toward strengthening the Educational Support Programme (ESP) — providing more training for teachers, more resources for classrooms, and more care for children who need it most.

We thank each guest and partner who joined us for this special evening.

Because when a child is welcomed and celebrated,

that’s not just one blessing —

it’s tenfold.
