Primary 1 Orientation at Montfort Junior School

For our K2 children at Little Olive Tree (Hougang), stepping into Primary 1 is an exciting milestone filled with new experiences, friends, and learning opportunities. To help make this transition smoother, we recently embarked on a special visit to Montfort Junior School for a fun and meaningful orientation to understand how formal schooling will be like.

The day started with great excitement as the children boarded the excursion bus, chattering happily about what lay ahead. With eager faces and curious minds, they set off on their adventure to see what it's like in a big school!

One of the highlights of the visit was experiencing the school canteen! The children practiced queuing up, selecting their food, and making their purchases—an important skill for their independence in Primary 1. Sitting together and enjoying their meals also gave them a glimpse of what recess time will be like in the coming year.

Through this orientation, our K2 children gained confidence in navigating their future school environment. This visit helped them understand what to expect, easing any nervousness they may have had about Primary 1.

As they prepare for this new chapter, we encourage them to embrace learning with joy, make new friends, and always be kind and respectful. We are proud of our little graduates and can’t wait to see them shine in their new school!
