Before embarking on their Learning Journey, our K1 and K2 children at Little Olive Tree Rochor were introduced to the topic of animal habitats. Through a thoughtfully curated video, they observed different environments and discussed how each habitat supports different kinds of animals.

They discovered that every living thing has a place where it belongs.

Stella thoughtfully shared, “Grass is important for animals… without grass, they will die.”

In that simple observation, we saw Truth taking root. An understanding that nature is interconnected, and that every part of creation has purpose and meaning.

With this foundation laid, the children set off for their Learning Journey to Curiosity Cove, where learning came alive beyond the classroom walls.

The Pre-Nursery and Nursery children excitedly jumped onto the lily pads. Some remembered the Finger Gym activity, “Froggy on the Lilypad,” and joyfully made the connection between classroom learning and real-world experience.

Alizee, a Pre-Nursery child, exclaimed “Waterlily!” as she hopped along with her friends.

The Nursery children followed with equal enthusiasm, laughter filling the air as they leapt from one lily pad to another. What began as a playful activity became something more — an embodied experience of learning through movement and memory.

As the different levels explored the various play areas, they made observations that deepened their understanding. Some verbalised their thoughts confidently, while others quietly absorbed their surroundings.

Gabrielle reflected, “Grasslands was wobbly so I fell down. I had to walk carefully after.” Jovie shared, “I explored the slide with Serena and it was slippery.” Nella proudly said, “I was not scared when I went into the Bat Caves. I comforted my friends.”

Here, we witnessed not just discovery, but Goodness — courage, resilience, empathy, and care for others. Learning was not confined to facts about habitats; it was shaping character in real time.

Meanwhile, IO, our Playgroup child, sat quietly watching zebras prance across a screen of the golden Savannah. In that still moment, there was Beauty — wonder in a child’s gaze, imagination stretching beyond what the eye could see.

At Little Olive Tree Rochor, we believe learning should engage both the mind and the heart. We design experiences that make knowledge concrete, spark curiosity, and cultivate virtues such as attentiveness, courage, and compassion. When children connect what they learn to what they experience, truth becomes meaningful, beauty becomes visible, and goodness becomes lived.

If you are looking for a preschool experience that goes beyond worksheets — one that nurtures both understanding and character — we warmly invite you to connect with us and discover how your child can grow with us at Little Olive Tree.
