Growing Together: Why Parent–School Partnership Matters
Growing Together: Why Parent–School Partnership Matters At Little Olive Tree, we believe that children grow best when the important adults in their lives walk together. On 19 December, our Yishun campus was filled with laughter, movement, and festive joy during the Jingle Joy CheerFest Carnival. Parents and children moved from station to station, played games, shared smiles, and created memories side by side. But beyond the colours and celebration, something deeper was t

A Journey of Purpose, Discipline and "One-Buttock Teaching"
To date, three of our Little Olive Tree preschools— Yishun, Ang Mo Kio, and Holland Village —have achieved the SPARK 2.0 Quality Certification . We celebrate this milestone not because it was easy, but because it demanded the very best of us. Getting SPARK is certainly not a walk in the park . It is more like learning the piano—slow, deliberate, sometimes awkward, and often full of scales you don’t feel like practising. It calls for thoughtful planning, clear thinking, purp

Bridging the Generations at the Kindergarten 2 Camp
With the year drawing to a close and the Graduation Concert done and dusted, the graduating Kindergarten 2 children in some of our Centres had one more exciting event to look forward to before they each embark on their new journeys in Primary School next year. It was the K2 Camp! We had wanted to give the children one last memorable experience with their peers – we wanted to celebrate them. This camp, however, we wanted to celebrate life too. What better way to do it than to

National Day Celebration 2024 – Intergenerational Games Day
This year’s National Day was truly special. As part of our Start Small Dream Big project, the K1 and K2 children of Little Olive Tree (Yishun) poured their hearts into planning games that would bring joy to the seniors from St. Luke’s Eldercare, our cherished community partner. Their dedication and thoughtfulness shone through as they took on various roles—some as buddies to the elders, offering gentle guidance and companionship, while others stepped up as game masters, pati

Celebrating the 2nd Be You-nique Day of the year!
Over the past week, our preschools commemorated the 2nd Be You-nique Day of the year, a day which appreciates the uniqueness of every person who is created wonderfully in the image of God, and injects some fun into school life! LOT Fajar At Fajar, their Be You-nique Day #2 was combined with a Parents’ Day celebration, which filled the school with excitement and joy. The theme this time was “Uniqueness in Nature,” and everyone turned up in bright and colourful botanical patte

Why do our children love to go to school? Parents share more about their journey with LOT
In our recent LOT Social Media Contest, we encouraged parents to share why their child loves to go to school. Back to School as Little Olive Tree!
The first day of school this year was exciting for more reasons than one. Aside from the children getting to see all their friends and teachers again after many had taken a break to go overseas on holidays or to spend time with family, we were starting the year with a new, refreshed brand – Little Olive Tree (LOT). As our 11 Presbyterian Preschools were rebranded as Little Olive Tree Preschools with effect from 1 January 2024, we now have a total of 16 LOT Preschools island

Christmas 2024: God’s Gift to us, a Gift to You
It’s the time of year once again where children never get tired of receiving present after present, with eyes widened with excitement and joy. This year, our gift to the children once again was to remind them about what Christmas really means, and to invite them not only to embrace it but to share it with others. In our Centres, we helped the children to explore the truth about Christmas, the beauty of the season, and the goodness of God’s love. We shared the wonder and joy

Agnes - a Principal who never stops thinking
Agnes, Principal , Yishun Like a book, my mind is always buzzing with words. That's because I love to ask questions about anything and everything. I do not take things at face value and I will question something to no end - until I finally understand and make sense of it. I am never not thinking and reflecting and strategising, so much so that people ask me if I ever sleep! Being a thinking leader is important as it ensures that I am able to set a clear vision and guidelines

Uhma - a Leader who serves with her whole heart
A tray usually starts out empty, and is meant to be filled up with all kinds of delightful things. But that's not all it is. A tray is a vessel, a tray brings joy to all that it serves. Uhma, Vice- Principal ,Yishun That is a great metaphor for my leadership style - I am always willing to start with a blank slate and take on whatever that is given to me. I serve with my 100% when I can, and even when I am exhausted, I still give my best so that those around me are able to fee
