Christmas came to a little village...
Last Friday, a small corner of One Holland Village felt a little warmer, a little brighter. Children from Little Olive Tree (Holland Village and Ghim Moh) were invited to take part in a Christmas caroling celebration. Twenty children turned up—eyes wide, voices ready, excitement bubbling over. Their parents were just as eager, cameras in hand and hearts full. A light drizzle made a brief appearance, but it did not dampen the spirit. If anything, it added to the charm. The

Daily Dose of Vitamin V(alues)
As a photographer, I often find myself quietly observing life as it unfolds, capturing fleeting expressions, small gestures, and the little stories that tell something much bigger about who we are. Recently, at Little Olive Tree Ghim Moh, I witnessed a moment that struck me deeply. The K2 children were at the playground that day, running about joyfully. Their voices carried far, perhaps louder than usual, as they tried to speak and play above the constant hum of nearby cons

Be Younique Day 2025 – Celebrating Every Child, Every Gift
At Little Olive Tree Preschools, we believe every child is wonderfully made and uniquely gifted. This year’s Be Younique Day was a beautiful reflection of that belief, as four of our centres came together in joyful celebration—each with their own creative take on what it means to be “uniquely you”. 🎾 Ghim Moh Campus – Sports Day The energy was infectious as children arrived in a colourful array of sports attire! From soccer to rollerblading, our little athletes warmed up

Little Olive Tree Visits Hay Dairies Goat Farm: A Fun-Filled Learning Journey for Families! 🐐🥛
At Little Olive Tree, we believe in the joy of hands-on learning, and our visit to Hay Dairies Goat Farm was a wonderful way for children and parents to experience farm life together! A Morning of Exploration Excitement was in the air as our children, along with some parents, arrived for the 9 AM session. The visit kicked off with an engaging introduction to goats and their milk, where everyone learned how goat’s milk differs from cow’s milk and its nutritional benefits. Pare

LOT Ghim Moh celebrates World Book Day!
Loud, whimsical or outrageous outfits were spotted in LOT Ghim Moh last week, as both children and teachers dressed up to mimic their favourite characters, armed with their book of choice in hand. All to celebrate World Book Day! Books truly open up possibilities to boundless imaginative universes, and transport us into magical, faraway places in our minds. And that’s exactly what the children immersed themselves in that day. At the drama station, children put on their bear e

A chat with Bethanie, Principal of LOT Ghim Moh, who strives to be an approachable and compassionate leader with foresight
In this series of chats with our staff, we get up close and personal. They share about things like their favourite drinks, to their experiences and motivations at work. Hi, could you introduce yourself? I'm Bethanie, Principal of LOT Ghim Moh. How did it feel at first, advancing from a Vice-Principal to the Principal role in 2023? I was nervous and anxious because it was a totally new job scope but I strived to manage the staff and centre well. So I felt quite abit of pr

Bethanie - a Principal who nurtures her team's strengths and pays attention to their needs
It is so easy for us to fixate on what people are not doing well in or what their areas of their improvement are. Yet, this magnifying glass reminds me to take a closer look at the strengths of my team. Each of them are individuals who, like our children, are capable of learning, growing and glowing too. When we take the time to pay attention to their strengths and encourage them, or help them grow, we empower them to do the same for the children. I am also reminded to pay cl

Staff and their kids in our Centres: A culture of love and trust
As it is always said, it takes a village to raise a child, and many of us are thankful for the PPS ‘village’ that their children are able to thrive in. Many of our staff have placed their children in PPS Centres and for good reason – because they trust and know that their children will be loved and well taken care of. Here, we really function just like a family who cares for and supports each other in all seasons of life. Let’s hear what some of our staff have to say about w

Proud to be part of the ‘rojak’ of Singapore this National Day!
Red and white are the colours of our flag, but the diversity of our backgrounds and cultures can be likened to a kaleidoscope. Bursting forth with vibrancy, a dynamic tapestry – yet harmonious. Everyone who lives in Singapore is part of a one-of-a-kind ‘rojak’ (the Malay word for 'mixed'; also the name of a dish with Malay and Chinese influences), whether you were born and bred here or you moved over from another country! This was exactly what our children in the centres cel

Celebrating World Book Day @ PPS Ghim Moh Centre!
Being literate enables us to make sense of the world around us, communicate effectively and thus form meaningful connections with the people in our lives. And the gateway to a child’s literacy? Through adventures and experiences that come alive through the telling and retelling of their favourite books. This was Ms Bethanie Wong’s intention for Presbyterian Preschool (Ghim Moh) when she rallied her teachers to commemorate World Book Day (23rd April 2023) in advance with their
