Christmas came to a little village...
Last Friday, a small corner of One Holland Village felt a little warmer, a little brighter. Children from Little Olive Tree (Holland Village and Ghim Moh) were invited to take part in a Christmas caroling celebration. Twenty children turned up—eyes wide, voices ready, excitement bubbling over. Their parents were just as eager, cameras in hand and hearts full. A light drizzle made a brief appearance, but it did not dampen the spirit. If anything, it added to the charm. The

A Journey of Purpose, Discipline and "One-Buttock Teaching"
To date, three of our Little Olive Tree preschools— Yishun, Ang Mo Kio, and Holland Village —have achieved the SPARK 2.0 Quality Certification . We celebrate this milestone not because it was easy, but because it demanded the very best of us. Getting SPARK is certainly not a walk in the park . It is more like learning the piano—slow, deliberate, sometimes awkward, and often full of scales you don’t feel like practising. It calls for thoughtful planning, clear thinking, purp

A Magical Learning Journey to Digital Light Canvas: Where Science Meets Art
As part of our State-of-the-Art (SOTA) curriculum, we believe in integrating science with the arts to provide our young learners with a holistic and immersive educational experience. In line with this, we recently organized an exciting excursion to Digital Light Canvas for our Nursery, Kindergarten One, and Kindergarten Two classes. This journey of exploration allowed the children to step into a world where art and technology merge seamlessly, fostering creativity and wonde

Parent volunteers give of their hearts and time to support Creation C.A.R.E 2024
With every big event that we organise and execute for the children, we are blessed to always have our village rooting for us and coming through with their different talents and time to make things work. For Creation C.A.R.E this year, we were fortunate to have a variety of parent volunteers who took on different roles in helping us, from creating the artworks to being there for the art showcase. Over at LOT Holland Village, it started with the mother of one of the K2s who

LOT Holland Village celebrates the Tembusu Heritage Tree through their Creation C.A.R.E art sculpture
Immersing themselves in the nature around them, the children of LOT Holland Village were on a mission to get to know the trees growing around the vicinity of their preschool. During their garden visit, the children were mesmerised by the different types of trees that they found; they were particularly intrigued by the discovery that some trees even bear fruits and flowers. While strolling around, they also discovered some nuts, and their curiosity led them to try opening them

Lian Choon - a Principal who invests in the life of her team
I believe that as a Principal I must start by listening well and connecting to my team. This pair of headphones reminds me to converse to understand each of my staff so that I can bring out the best in them. Only when we are personally invested in them as people, learning about them and caring for them, will we be able to function as a team. That is when the team will be able to get moving. Proud to be part of the ‘rojak’ of Singapore this National Day!
Red and white are the colours of our flag, but the diversity of our backgrounds and cultures can be likened to a kaleidoscope. Bursting forth with vibrancy, a dynamic tapestry – yet harmonious. Everyone who lives in Singapore is part of a one-of-a-kind ‘rojak’ (the Malay word for 'mixed'; also the name of a dish with Malay and Chinese influences), whether you were born and bred here or you moved over from another country! This was exactly what our children in the centres cel
