Why do our children love to go to school? Parents share more about their journey with LOT

Updated: Feb 14

In our recent LOT Social Media Contest, we encouraged parents to share why their child loves to go to school. We were pleasantly surprised by the heartwarming words of appreciation and stories of growth. Check some of them out below! Tan Hui Mian, Mother of Avelynn | Hougang

This year is going to be a challenging year for Avelynn, the year without jiejie(s) accompanying her in school while she's in K1. Teachers are amazing at Little Olive Tree, making her comfortable so she is enjoying herself in school even without jiejie's company. She has been adapting well and looking forward to have water play with her friends every Wednesday. Everytime, she would come back and share with us on the activities that she does in school. Looking forward to see more of her accomplishments.

Ruby Garg, Mother of Naira Garg | Foochow Methodist Church Farrer Park

It's heartwarming to learn about Naira Garg's positive experiences at Little Olive Tree (FMC). Since joining in N1 and progressing to K2, she has shown notable growth. Here are some positive changes observed in Naira during her journey:

*She can now express her feelings effectively.

*She has become more independent, handling tasks like getting ready for school.

* She demonstrates proper care for her toys and belongings.

Our respected principal, Madam Ten, is consistently present during pickup and drop-off times, creating a welcoming atmosphere. Ms. Lim, our respected N2 teacher, is a very jolly and kind-hearted teacher and warmly greets parents.

When I met Ms. Agnes (K1 teacher) personally, I appreciated her unbiased way of giving feedback about my daughter. The school organises exploration trips every 2 to 3 months, providing hands-on experiences for the children to gain practical knowledge. The annual concerts, featuring new concepts for both kids and teachers, are another highlight.

My daughter Naira's progress in various areas, including academics, behaviour, and extracurricular activities, is attributed to the positive environment at Little Olive Tree. A heartfelt thank you to all the staff for their dedication. 🌱😊

Janice Leong, Mother of Caleb Chin | Foochow Methodist Church Farrer Park

I would like to thank Caleb’s amazing Principal, Mdm Ten and his class teachers, Angel and Pauline. They are absolutely wonderful, kind and engaging.

Caleb has always been a ‘superglue’ baby but from the start, Mdm Ten calmly comforted him when he cried and waited for him to trust her. Caleb overcame his separation anxiety in 3 days! On our third week in, I could tell he enjoyed going to school as he has fun in a safe and loving environment.

He now freely lets go of me and runs into Mdm Ten’s or his teachers’ arms during drop-off!

Malcolm Chan, Father of Chan Ho Yan | Tampines Hoyan's previous playschool was very focused on English as the main linguafranca. she was not able to converse in Mandarin at home.

After joining LOT, her classes were more balanced with her teachers conversing more in Mandarin. Hoyan can now express her wants and needs in Mandarin.

Kavi Bharathi Srinivasan, Mother of Vinoth Kumar Diyasri | Yishun

My little one truly loves going to school. Whether it's playing with friends, soaking in new knowledge, or embracing the comforting routine, she never turns down a school day. It's a joyful experience for her!

Kristen Seah, Mother of Frederic Lie | Bukit Arang My son just started on Monday and on Wednesday when he attended by himself, he had lots of fun and couldn't wait to go back! I'm so grateful for the teachers and their care, especially 王老师. His favourite part of the day is lunch! He loves Aunty Monica's cooking!

Soh Chee Seng, Father of Janelle Soh | Hougang This 2024, Janelle joins Little Olive Tree as her new preschool. As I send her to her new school in the morning, we get to listen to the song, Goodness of God playing as the background music. This makes my heart glad as it reminds me of God's goodness in providing a new school for Janelle. When probed, Janelle told me that she loves coming to school because she gets to learn new things and know new friends.

Irene Ong, Mother of Jedidah Lim | Woodlands

Thank you Little Olive Tree for loving and guiding my girl. Seeing her smiles in the photos that teachers took and hearing her share stories of her classmates, I know that she loves the school. Sheryl Tian, Mother of Alessa Lee | Hougang

Alessa's school has recently rebranded to Little Olive Tree. She loves the outdoor activities in school such as waterplay and going to the Aroozoo playground. She also enjoys singing biblical songs during the morning assembly and occasionally sings at home as well. She is looking forward to going to school each day!
