This year’s National Day was truly special. As part of our Start Small Dream Big project, the K1 and K2 children of Little Olive Tree (Yishun) poured their hearts into planning games that would bring joy to the seniors from St. Luke’s Eldercare, our cherished community partner. Their dedication and thoughtfulness shone through as they took on various roles—some as buddies to the elders, offering gentle guidance and companionship, while others stepped up as game masters, patiently explaining the rules and cheering the seniors on.

In the spirit of inclusion, we welcomed parents from our infant and playgroup classes to join in the festivities. As a School, we sang the National Anthem, recited our pledge, and moved as one through the National Day workout. Peals of laughter filled the air as children participated in the activity with the seniors, bridging generations in a shared moment of celebration.

The afternoon saw our young leaders continuing to serve, as the K1 and K2 children eagerly manned the game booths for their younger peers. Through every smile exchanged and every hand held, they experienced firsthand the joy of giving, the beauty of connection, and the truth that even the smallest hands can create a ripple of goodness.

As the day came to a close, hearts were full. Our children learned that National Day is not just about waving flags—it is about standing united, embracing those around us, and making a difference, no matter how young we may be.
Indeed, in their kindness and service, they embodied Truth, Beauty, and Goodness in its purest form, and a testament to the values that drive us to do what we do.
Happy 59th birthday Singapore! We are all proud to call you our home!
