Here We Are — LOT’s NDP 2025 Cover

This year’s NDP song "Here We Are" carries a deeply personal meaning for our Little Olive Tree family — especially for the children, teachers, and leaders of Ang Mo Kio and Bukit Arang.

In 2024, when a sudden fire incident disrupted our AMK centre, Bukit Arang responded not with hesitation, but with hospitality. They opened their doors, hearts, and classrooms — embodying the spirit of koinonia (fellowship) and the biblical call to carry one another’s burdens. In that time of uncertainty, we witnessed something beautiful: not just a logistical solution, but a living expression of unity, compassion, and the goodness of community.

The lyrics of "Here We Are" echo our journey — one marked by resilience in hardship, restoration through grace, and relationships grounded in truth. This cover is our testimony. A thanksgiving offering. A declaration that even when things fall apart, love holds.

The video also reveals something long-awaited — the newly restored AMK centre rebuilt with Universal Design for Learning (UDL) principles. It is a space where every child belongs, where learning is flexible, accessible, and meaningful. Where design honours dignity. Where beauty is intentional. It reflects our belief that each child is fearfully and wonderfully made, and our calling as educators is to prepare the soil so all may flourish.

And there’s something extra special — our Chinese Curriculum Team translated parts of the song into Mandarin, so that more hearts can sing together in harmony. Because language should never be a barrier to belonging.

“Here we are… this is what home means to us.”

And here, by God’s grace, is where we grow in truth, beauty, and goodness — together.
