With hearts full of excitement and a touch of nostalgia, Little Olive Tree (LOT) Preschools celebrated our K2 Graduation Concert 2024, themed “Created to Shine!” Our beloved six-year-olds, now ready to step into the world of primary school, took the stage with confidence and joy on November 8, 2024.
The stage was bathed in a warm glow, the air filled with excitement, and the auditorium buzzing with anticipation. In that moment, a sea of familiar faces beamed with pride and love, ready to witness a magical milestone unfold before their eyes. Each child, a beacon of hope and promise, stood poised to showcase their individual brilliance, illuminating the room with their pure and unbridled light.
It was a celebration of not just an end, but a beautiful beginning - a testament to the boundless potential and endless possibilities that lay ahead for these young hearts full of dreams.
Our Executive Director, Mr. Lim Ee Tuo, spoke about the theme of the concert, saying,
“Our children are like little lights—each one shining in their own way, each one created with purpose and uniqueness. Today, we celebrate not only how they’ve grown and learned but also the light they bring to all of us.”
His words reminded us that each of us is wonderfully and uniquely made by our loving Creator.
The concert started with a poignant reminisce of their preschool journey encapsulated in a montage, featuring core moments from playful explorations to cherished friendships. For many in the audience, these memories were a sweet reminder of how much the children have grown since their first day at LOT.
The musical concert was opened by an electrifying rhythmic performance by LOT (Hougang) graduates, moving to the rhythm in alignment with the heartbeat of the drums. Their energy and gusto lit up the stage, showcasing their resilience and conviction that they have developed over the years.
See, these were no ordinary performances; each song, dance and act held meaning. Crafted by months of hard work, purpose and determination, just like the seven days of creation when God created the world.
How amazing is His love for us, to also be a part of God's creation!
The next few acts were also no child's play as each one of our LOT graduates resolved to add their own sparkle to their performance, manifesting their individuality and growth. Indeed, the children were the stars of the day, leaving the audience awe-struck with their synchronized beats, dance moves and creativity.
One of the most heartwarming moments of the concert was seeing how the children included friends with diverse needs in their dance. They held hands, ensured safety, and even guided them with love and finesse. These selfless act of inclusion mirrored the daily atmosphere in the classroom, where grace and empathy are part of each day.
The brilliant choreographers thoughtfully designed steps to ensure that every child, regardless of their abilities, could participate in this once-in-a-lifetime event together, as one big family.
The final performance, “Celebrate!”, saw children from LOT (Pasir Ris St 21) bouncing into the auditorium with claps and cheers - Their movements mirroring the innocent, uninhibited joy of the children!
With cheers echoing through the hall, it was clear that this was not just a graduation.
It was a celebration of the bonds that had been woven through countless shared moments of learning, growing, and loving, and to celebrate each child as a precious creation of God.
In the concert’s finale, teachers joined the children on stage for a moving rendition of “Reach.” Their voices filled the auditorium, each one echoing the message of the evening—that every child should follow their dream, reach for the stars, and be a light to the world. As they sang, parents joined in by waving their star glow stick while holding back tears, grateful for the dedication and love the teachers have shown in nurturing their children.
With one last bow and cheer from the audience, the evening concluded in a spirit of celebration.
As parents embraced their children, the young graduands beamed with pride. This momentous event marking a bright beginning for the dreams of each child, in their own special way.
To the graduating class of 2024:
Let your light shine before others, so that they may see your good works and give glory to your Father who is in heaven. - Matthew 5:16
