"I would like to express my gratitude for accepting my child in LOT Woodlands. Despite the long travelling distance from Punggol, my husband and I think it is worth for my child to be in the inclusive classroom where he can have suitable special needs support in the preschool.
We have met up with the Child Development doctor at KKH yesterday and she was pleased with the improvement my child has made. I am very glad the teachers in LOT Woodlands are very child-centric and have loving hearts to raise the compassionate and graceful children. Particularly for my son who is on the spectrum who thrives on predictability, he can expect what is coming based on the timetable. We have previously enrolled him in other preschool, and I saw random curriculum execution such as not following class plans or having repetitive sessions that was seemingly easier to conduct the class day after day (i.e. playing songs on YouTube for half of the morning class).

The lessons are very engaging, especially the Key to Learning which I like it so much to the extent I bought a home edition myself to extend his learning experience. The Code Cracker also helps us to scaffold his reading skills, for instance, I also learnt the sequence in learning Phonics instead of being a “headless chicken” for a mother who does not have Phonics knowledge to teach my child at home.
Last week, one of my friends who also has an ASD child shared with me the tremendous stress she has undergone for putting her son in a mainstream preschool as she was charged heavily monthly on the provision of shadow teacher in the class. Her financial stress was met with the fears of raising an ASD child, frequent emotional outburst from her son as well as navigation through the uncertainties of special needs education. Through this reflection, I am thankful that LOT Woodlands walked alongside with us in this journey providing an affordable and inclusive environment for my child.
He is fortunate to meet Teachers like Ms. Tina Ng and Ms. Diana Tok who have wealth of experience and still passionate in preschool teaching. It is hard to come by teachers who are understanding and still enthusiastic to explore other perspectives of how neurodivergent learn and grow in groups. I hope to see him develop more “grit” and overcome more “grease” due to his inborn condition in months to come. I think it will improve in time to come in such a positive environment and exceptional teachers in the class.

Thank you again, LOT Woodlands team (and not forgetting our industrious cleaner, Auntie Esther who constantly make effort to engage with my child to improve his social skills)."

Presbyterian Preschool Services (PPS) is committed to supporting children with special educational needs through our Educational Support Programme (ESP), offering personalised care within inclusive classrooms. We provide this vital support at a heavily subsidised rate to ensure families can access it, regardless of their financial situation. However, the true cost of delivering quality interventions and maintaining trained Educational Support Teachers is high. To keep ESP sustainable and accessible to more children, we rely on the generosity of donors. Every contribution helps us continue this important work—because every child deserves a chance to learn, grow, and belong.
