Stories

A Journey of Purpose, Discipline and "One-Buttock Teaching"
To date, three of our Little Olive Tree preschools— Yishun, Ang Mo Kio, and Holland Village —have achieved the SPARK 2.0 Quality Certification . We celebrate this milestone not because it was easy, but because it demanded the very best of us.  Getting SPARK is certainly not a walk in the park . It is more like learning the piano—slow, deliberate, sometimes awkward, and often full of scales you don’t feel like practising. It calls for thoughtful planning, clear thinking, purp

Reflections from Little Olive Tree’s 2025 K2 Graduation Concert   This year’s K2 Graduation Concert — You Are Value-Able!  — celebrated more than just the end of a preschool journey. It was a joyful reminder of what truly gives life meaning: knowing that we are valued and that we can bring value to others.  The concert showcased Little Olive Tree’s five core values — Care, Respect, Responsibility, Courage, and Honesty  — through a delightful story performed by the K2 class

POP 3.0: A New Chapter
In the competitive landscape of early childhood education in Singapore, where government-backed childcare promises affordability and accessibility, private preschools face an uphill battle for survival. For Little Olive Tree Preschools, the journey has been one of faith, perseverance, and unwavering commitment to nurturing young lives with truth, beauty, and goodness. Â Our story began in 1974 when our first preschool was established under Presbyterian Community Services to m

Let Your Light Shine, With Us!

It does not exist for itself — it shines so that others may see.  On 18 October 2025, the Let Your Light Shine  Career Fair at Little Olive Tree (Rochor) was just that — a gathering of light. Jointly organised by the Presbyterian Church in Singapore, Singapore Life Church, and Presbyterian Preschool Services, the event brought together close to 30 participants in a warm, faith-filled morning of sharing, laughter, and inspiration.  From the openi

Bridging the Generations at the Kindergarten 2 Camp
With the year drawing to a close and the Graduation Concert done and dusted, the graduating Kindergarten 2 children in some of our Centres had one more exciting event to look forward to before they each embark on their new journeys in Primary School next year. It was the K2 Camp! We had wanted to give the children one last memorable experience with their peers – we wanted to celebrate them. This camp, however, we wanted to celebrate life too. What better way to do it than to

Easter: The Garden, the Curtain and the Cross
Last weekend was a time to commemorate both Good Friday and Easter; a time to remember how God had sent His son into the world to save us because of His great love for us. Indeed, it is reason to celebrate that Jesus had victory over death and sin, when he died on the cross for our sins and rose from the dead 3 days later! This year for Easter, the children learned that God’s story of salvation was not that simple, nor was it joyful all the way. However, His plan was perfect

Eileen Lua - A Principal who treasures being in a multi-talented team
Eileen Lua, Principal, Pasir Ris 51 Previously, I felt like I was a singular pen with just one colour, but I now feel like I have upgraded to a multicoloured pen! This is because I am part of a team that brings different colours and talents to the table. Each pen also has a spring, so we are able to launch forward to write our story together as we collaborate, instead of focusing only on our own narratives. I have learnt to meet the staff, parents and children where they are

Staff and their kids in our Centres: A culture of love and trust
As it is always said, it takes a village to raise a child, and many of us are thankful for the PPS ‘village’ that their children are able to thrive in. Many of our staff have placed their children in PPS Centres and for good reason – because they trust and know that their children will be loved and well taken care of. Here, we really function just like a family who cares for and supports each other in all seasons of life. Let’s hear what some of our staff have to say about w

Class of 2023: K2 Graduation Concert
Last Friday was a bittersweet affair as we saw our graduating batch of children perform their hearts out for their family and friends at the K2 Graduation Concert 2023, titled ‘You Are Special’. An adaptation of Max Lucado’s tale ‘You Are Special’, the children told the story of Danny, who was not seen as talented or beautiful by the world’s standards despite trying his best. Danny went on a journey and eventually met his creator, who told him that he was special just because

Happy Children's Day!
Apart from it being a day where parents often give their children a 'free pass' for them to eat and do what they like, Children's Day is also a time to celebrate and appreciate them for who they are! Indeed, each child is special in God's eyes and was fearfully and wonderfully made. Psalm 139:14 I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made; your works are wonderful, I know that full well. On Thursday, our Centres celebrated our children in so many fun and exciting

Our NDP Music Video '23: Shine Your Light
"Go, Shine Your Light upon the world!" The hook "Go, Shine Your Light upon the world" is something we that we've been hearing a lot of on the radio and in malls. Beyond it being catchy, it emboldens us Singaporeans to share our joy and Singaporean spirit with others beyond borders. The song also reminds us that just like how Singapore, a little red dot has come so far in the past 58 years, that we as individuals can also dream big and achieve much if we believe in ourselves.

Making Old Things New
