Michele - a Principal who celebrates her team members' strengths and uniqueness
Michele, Principal , Hougang Just like a kaleidoscope bursting forth with a myriad of colours, shapes and sizes, I see my team as unique and diverse individuals who come together to create a masterpiece. When I see everyone contributing with their different strengths and personalities, I can really say that 'teamwork really makes the dream work'. Of course, having a clear vision is important for me to guide my teachers, which is why I do a lot of reflection and am constantly

Bethanie - a Principal who nurtures her team's strengths and pays attention to their needs
It is so easy for us to fixate on what people are not doing well in or what their areas of their improvement are. Yet, this magnifying glass reminds me to take a closer look at the strengths of my team. Each of them are individuals who, like our children, are capable of learning, growing and glowing too. When we take the time to pay attention to their strengths and encourage them, or help them grow, we empower them to do the same for the children. I am also reminded to pay cl

Priscilla - A Principal who has a wealth of experience and tools in her pocket
Priscilla, Principal , Bethany As a leader, it would be great to have a special pocket like Doraemon does. What would I need it for, you may ask? I need to have lots of useful things in my pocket, such as skills and experiences that will come in handy anytime. In addition, I know the strengths and weaknesses of my team members, so I can provide them with the necessary tools and support when they require it. This way, I can motivate my team to do our best together!

Staff and their kids in our Centres: A culture of love and trust
As it is always said, it takes a village to raise a child, and many of us are thankful for the PPS ‘village’ that their children are able to thrive in. Many of our staff have placed their children in PPS Centres and for good reason – because they trust and know that their children will be loved and well taken care of. Here, we really function just like a family who cares for and supports each other in all seasons of life. Let’s hear what some of our staff have to say about w

Class of 2023: K2 Graduation Concert
Last Friday was a bittersweet affair as we saw our graduating batch of children perform their hearts out for their family and friends at the K2 Graduation Concert 2023, titled ‘You Are Special’. An adaptation of Max Lucado’s tale ‘You Are Special’, the children told the story of Danny, who was not seen as talented or beautiful by the world’s standards despite trying his best. Danny went on a journey and eventually met his creator, who told him that he was special just because

May Ten - A Principal who endeavours to be authentic and supportive in all seasons
A bottle of real honey encapsulates my values and approach as a leader as honey represents God’s gifts and grace in the Bible. In my entire 20-year journey in the preschool sector, I have experienced so much of God’s providence and blessings, which encourages me to be an authentic leader who guides my team with empathy, grace and opportunities for growth. Honey that is counterfeit or impure does not offer the healing benefits of real, authentic honey. God’s Word reminds me th

Good Start Run: An arduous but grace-filled marathon across Scotland
In August 2023, 70-year-old Stephen Lim Nghee Huat (or Uncle Yifa/ Nghee Huat as the kids know him by) set off for Scotland to do what an average Singaporean would never even think about doing. Unlike the forgiving terrain in Singapore, the 346km he would be covering as part of an ultramarathon dedicated to Good Start SG which spanned from the West Coast to the East Coast of Scotland, was challenging to say the least. 95% of the course was located within the mountains and fo

Happy Children's Day!

Indeed, each child is special in God's eyes and was fearfully and wonderfully made. Psalm 139:14 I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made; your works are wonderful, I know that full well. On Thursday, our Centres celebrated our children in so many fun and exciting
